I want to thank the membership for approving the COPE bylaws. As you know, both the District and members of the school board are not interested in asking our opinion on current matters. It is time to get our political action committee off the ground, but we need to move quickly. The election season is fast approaching. Our first goal is to recruit a candidate or two who will macro-manage, respect and value our opinions, and advocate for our causes. Payroll deduction forms for contributions into the PAC will be made available soon. More updates will be provided after spring break.
Please let union leadership know if you are interested in serving on the COPE committee. Union leadership will appiont two members to the committee. Rank and file membership will elect the other two members to the committee in May.
