Candidate Bio

Former vice president of the United States
Biden represented Delaware in the U.S. Senate from 1973 to 2009. He served as vice president to President Obama from 2009 until 2017. Biden was born in Scranton, Pa., and lived there for 10 years before moving to Delaware. Before being elected to the Senate, he earned a J.D. from Syracuse University and was elected to the New Castle County Council. After completing his time as vice president, Biden joined the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was named the Benjamin Franklin Presidential Practice Professor.
