Mr. Oelsner continued the tired argument that wages and benefits take up 90% of the budget. Not only does this argument fail to put into context the entire situation, but it is also anti-teacher. Instead of pointing fingers I sugegst the Board and union work together to confront our challenges. Unfortunately, to date, Board President Kitamura has failed to return any of my phone calls or email inquiries. These are difficult times (even though the district has a comfortable reserve) and it would make sense for us to collaborate in moving forward. The ball is in the Board's court.
