Interestingly, as the District asks for over $950,000 in concessions from us, here are some of the items they have spent money on in this fiscal year:

·        $48,000 severance for Gemma

·        $21,000 for superintendent search

·        $15,000 Total schools solutions

·        $24,000 for staff development training

·        $13,000 for a couple months of Interim superintendent

·        $101,991 loan costs for taking the CTE loan for one year

·        $330,000 for A Street Project that went directly into a facilities improvement fund

Total cost of financial “choices” made by the Board of Trustees in a belt-tightening year: $552,991

Keep in mind these costs come on top of the fact that the Distirct was in violation of the contract last fall for failure to meet the class size averages.  The mediated settlement between the District and the GFCCE was rejected by the Board.

Additionally, the Distirct has now swept up to $90,000 in unspent Tier III monies.
