Plunge for the Pantry Donation Totals!

$1251.36 was collected and 12 boxes of food were donated to the Phoenix Food Pantry.

For the second year Phoenix Central School Teachers Association members helped out the local Phoenix Food Pantry during the cold month of January!  Coordinated by Andrea Ackles and Charles Marks, donations of food and money have been gathered for the Food Pantry and volunteers jumped into the icy Oswego River to assist in the effort as a crowd looked on in support. Chris Barrett, Amanda Abold, Marla Leitner, Andrea Ackles, Jenna Lipiska, and Angie Neiss all braved the sub-zero weather and frigid water to help out a good cause. The Phoenix Fire department cut a large hole into the ice covering the river near the lock in Phoenix and the Oswego County Ambulance, Oswego County Dive Team, and US Coast Guard were there for help and support to make sure the event took place safely. Thank you to those that supported this effort! It is good to know that even in hard times, members of the local school district and community can come together to benefit those that need help the most.
