A job listing for a new administrator in Monongalia County Schools was yanked last week — after a local teacher’s union questioned the validity of the position and the timing of its offering, since layoffs are looming for 70 teachers and other employees in the months ahead.

On January 19, 2011, the union’s executive council voted to re-open the contract for negotiations. The current contract expires on June 30, 2011.

Please note that not all workplace issues are contractual, but most are. If you raise an issue that cannot be solved through the contract, we will still do our best to help you solve the problem.
